what's the deal?

the story for this little site comes from a conversation with a friend who was moving. she asked how she could keep up with me, since I mostly abandoned social media in 2018. I assured her I would pop online every now and then so that I could be sure to follow along with her life. I smiled and felt satisfied with my offer of congeniality. this friend graciously and generously pointed out, "but I want to see what's going on in your life too. how can I stay up to date with you?"

what a question!

it hit me in that moment that I've missed out on being known in this small way. enter a revival of my high school hobby! when I was fifteen I built my own photo blog via my first website, "the-sparkster.com" I decided this original way of sharing life and adventures with friends via monthly collections of my photos felt like it fit in a whole new way. I already keep monthly song collections (going on 9 years now, hot damn!), so I thought it could be a fun extension of my archiving and documentation process.

at the end of the day, I'd like there to be a place where I can crack open the door and welcome you into these sweet, mundane, and beautiful moments in my life.
